Gear Reviews- Patagonia Hi-Loft Down Sweater

This is the 2011 Patagonia Women's Hi-Loft Down Sweater! The shell fabric is made with ripstop polyester and 800-fill goose down. Also, it weighs only 12 oz. and compresses down to about the size of two fists into a stuff sack it comes with.

Because the jacket is so thin and lightweight, I was weary of how warm it would be. I have worn it around town, hiking and skiing to test its limits. While skiing, I had on a base layer and 2 mid layers underneath the jacket and I was very warm in 20 degree weather. It wasn't very windy, but I did not feel any draft at all through the jacket on the chair lift or skiing. While hiking, it is sometimes too warm, but it depends on the temperature.

Pros:
Warm
Windproof
Not bulky
Lightweight
Compressible
Breathable
Pretty colors :)

Cons:
Needs a hood (did not come with the option)
Feathers poke out of the seems
Not waterproof and down will clump when wet
Rips easily (I fell while hiking and ripped the fabric on the wrist)
